BLACKSBURG, Va. (Aug. 27, 2023)--Morgan State senior setter
Erin Carpenter was named to the Hokie Invitational All-Tournament Team on Saturday.

In three matches over the weekend, the Atlanta, Ga. native totaled 30 assists, 20 digs, three kills, three service aces and two blocks in nine sets played.

Carpenter recorded 11 assists, two digs and hit .333 with two kills in the season opener against host Virginia Tech on Friday. Later that evening she followed that performance with a weekend-best 17 assists, seven digs and two assisted blocks to go with a kill against Furman.

In Saturday's finale against Quinnipiac, Carpenter totaled a season-high 11 digs, had a season-best two service aces and added two assists. Â

Carpenter was joined on the all-tournament team by Virginia Tech's Sydney Petersen (MVP), Leandra Mangual and Hailey Pearce, Furman's Ava Augustson and Quinnipiac's Aryanah Diaz.

Morgan State returns to action on Thursday, August 31, when it hosts rival and co-host Towson in the opener of the Morgan/Towson Invitational. First serve is slated for 6 p.m. at Hill Field House.
