BALTIMORE, Md. (March 20, 2023) –
Morgan State University's football team will be participating in a bone marrow donor recruitment program.

The program is called "Get in the Game," an initiative of the Be the Match organization. It will be 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, outside of the University Student Center (USC).

Those who attend will have the chance to join the bone marrow national registry by providing a DNA sample via a mouth swab. The event is free and open to the public.

GITG is the most successful donor recruitment program at Be the Match. Be the Match is the global leader in bone marrow transplantation services and research. Each spring, athletic teams across the country host an event on campus allowing them to educate peers on the importance of joining the national registry.

"Our students are very excited to join Get in the Game," said Damon Wilson, head men's football coach. "We hope to recruit new members for the national registry that will hopefully have an opportunity to save the life of someone in need."
