Men's Track & Field Wrap Competition at Penn Relays Carnival

Morgan State captured gold in the College 4x200m and 4x100m.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (April 30, 2022) — The Morgan State men's track and field team wrapped action at the 126th Penn Relays on Saturday at Franklin Field.
 
The Bears relay teams had outstanding performances at one of the nation's premier facilities. Morgan State captured gold in both the College 4x200m and the College 4x100m. 

 

The Bears quartet of Lamar Davis, Adrian Holley, Keon Rantin and Ali Bowens posted a season-best mark of 1:24.83, beating out Middle Tennessee (1:25.53) and Troy (1:25.76) at the finish line in the 4x200m College. 
 
On Saturday, the Bears raced to a first place finish in the College 4x100 Relay. Davis ran the opening leg followed by Rantin and Bowens before Holley finished the anchor leg. The quartet clocked in with a season best 40.19. 

 

Rantin also placed 16thin the College 100m Dash Heats with a season best time of 10.54.
 
In the field events, Omari McKenzie recorded a personal best leap of 14.59m (47-10½) to place 5th in the College Triple Jump on Friday. Lamar Davis placed 19th in the College Long Jump with a leap of 6.50m (21-4).
 
Zachary Dillon also recorded a 14th place finish in the College Discus Throw with a toss of 49.43 (162-2).
 
Next up, the Bears will be in action at the 2022 MEAC Track & Field Championships scheduled for May 12-14 at Dick Price Stadium on the campus of Norfolk State in Norfolk, Virginia.
