Final Results

BALTIMORE, Md. (April 23, 2022) — The Morgan State men's track and field team returned home this weekend to host the 16thannual Morgan State Legacy Meet on Saturday at Earl C. Banks Field at Hughes Stadium. With the Covid-19 pandemic and restrictions, today's meet marked the return of the Legacy Meet for first time since the 2019 season, which Morgan State won the team title.

The Bears, the defending Legacy Meet champions, took advantage of being at home for the first time this season, as they finished with 10 top-5 finishers, including four first place performances.

It was a special day for Morgan State, who honored its senior class prior to the start of the 800-meter dash.

Morgan State Kobe-Jordan Rhooms, the MEAC's reigning Field Athlete of the Week, capped his 'Senior Day' in style by recording a pair of personal best marks on the day. The senior sensation got the Bears off to a great start in the pit by capturing the long jump title with a leap of 7.52-meters, in addition to winning the triple jump with a clearance of 15.70-meters.  He currently sits atop the MEAC rank No. 1 in the triple jump (No. 25 in the nation) and has the second best mark in the long jump.

It was a fantastic outing for senior speedster Keon Rantin. The senior raced to a first place finish in the 400-meter dash by clocking in a season best time of 48.03. He also placed fourth in the 200-meter dash with a season-best time of 21.44.

Rantin teamed with Lamar Davis, Ali Bowens and Adrian Holley to capture gold in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 40.90.

Morgan had 3 men advance to the 100m Final with all 3 recording wind legal personal best times. Sophomore Adrian Holley and junior Lamar Davis placed third (10.56) and fourth place (10.57), respectively, while Ali Bowens recorded a sixth place finish at 10.65. Joseph Amoah, running for Ghana, broke the meet record and set a new facility record by crossing the tape with a time of 9.94.

Sophomore Devion Bryant finished fourth in the 800 meters in a season-best  time of 1:56.41 seconds, while freshman teammate Brandon Jones placed ninth (1:59.67 - season-best).

Freshman Nasir Wallace recorded sixth place finish in the 1500 meter run by crossing the tape in a personal-best 4:10.57, and Justin Alston added a 10th place finish clocking in at 4:18.68.

Freshman Jackson Waller ran a time of 16:56.74 to place sixth in the 5000 meter run.

Freshman Omari McKenzie posted a personal-best 1.95 meters on his fourth attempt to place fourth in the high jump.

Sophomore Malik Brown recorded a ninth place finish in the pole vault clearing a personal-best 3:85m (12-07.05).
