BALTIMORE, Md. (Jan. 13, 2022) – Morgan State University punter Neil Boudreau has been announced to the roster for the HBCU Legacy Bowl, a college football all-star game held at Yulman Stadium in New Orleans (La.) on Saturday, February 19.
Boudreau, who was the starting quarterback for the Bears, was recognized as one of the top punters in the league. The Irvine (Calif.) product ranked No. 4 in the league by averaging 37.9 yards on 65 punts. He had 17 punts inside the 20 and had five punts of over 50 yards, including a 69-yard punt against Norfolk State (Oct. 30) -- the longest punt in the MEAC this season.
The HBCU Legacy Bowl, presented by the Black College Football Hall of Fame, is a postseason all-star game showcasing the best NFL draft-eligible football players from Historically Black Colleges and Universities. It will be broadcast live on NFL Network.
The Black College Football Hall of Fame was founded in 2009 by African-American pioneers, quarterbacks James Harris and Doug Williams to preserve the history and honor the greatest football players, coaches and contributors from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
There have been 90 inductees since inception, including Mel Blount, James Harris, Willie Lanier, Art Shell and Doug Williams, who serve as Trustees.
More than a football game, the week-long celebration of Black culture and history will provide invaluable exposure and opportunity for HBCU football players.
Boudreau will represent the Morgan State Bears as a punter at the HBCU Legacy Bowl.
The bowl game represents a great opportunity for Boudreau to showcase his skills against some of the best HBCU talent in the country.
