BALTIMORE, Md. (August 7, 2026) -- Former Morgan State standout Carlvainsky Decius continues to make his mark at the professional level, earning 2026 All-Indoor Football League (IFL) First Team honors following an outstanding rookie campaign with the Arizona Rattlers.
Decius was one of four Arizona Rattlers players selected to the 2026 All-IFL First Team, highlighting his impact on one of the league's top defensive units. The honor comes just days after he was named to the 2026 IFL All-Rookie Team, capping a breakout first season in which he emerged as one of the IFL's premier defensive backs.
#24 Carlvainsky Decius
A native of New Carrollton, Md., Decius recorded six interceptions during the regular season while serving as a cornerstone of an Arizona defense that led the IFL with 29 interceptions—10 more than any other team in the league.
Speaking with Rattlers Media, Decius said his immediate success was no surprise.
"This season hasn't surprised me," Decius said. "I've always been a hard worker. I've always trained like a professional and carried myself that way. Coming here, I already knew I was going to make the plays that I was supposed to make. It was just a matter of when."
Before launching his professional career, Decius became one of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's top defensive backs during his four-year career at Morgan State.
As a senior, he earned First Team All-MEAC honors after starting all 12 games and totaling 43 tackles (27 solo), six pass breakups (second in the MEAC), 3.0 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and three interceptions. He helped anchor a Bears secondary that ranked among the nation's best, allowing just 170.8 passing yards per game.
Decius now looks to help Arizona continue its postseason run as the Rattlers travel to face the San Diego Strike Force in the IFL Western Conference Championship Game on Sunday. The appearance marks the franchise's 13th conference championship game under head coach Kevin Guy, who has guided the Rattlers to nine league championship appearances and five titles.
Congratulations to Carlvainsky Decius on another well-earned accomplishment as he continues to represent Morgan State with excellence at the professional level.Â
