Men’s Cross Country finish in second place at DSU Sting Invite

Bears put four in Top 10; paced by Waller (2nd place)

SMYRNA, Del. (Sept. 11, 2021) -- The Morgan State men's cross country team finished as runner-up on Saturday during the DSU Sting XC Invitational at DSU Farm Course in Smyrna, Delaware. 
 
Delaware State captured the team title with 29 points, followed by the Bears in second place with 36 points, and Coppin State finished third with 78 points. Maryland Eastern-Shore placed fourth with 88 points.
 
Freshman standout Jackson Waller paced the way for the Bears as he finished the 5300m run in a time of 18:15.30, and was edged out at the finish line by race champion Devin Smith (18:13.10) of DSU.
 
Sophomore teammate Justin Alston (18:54.80), sophomore Devion Bryant (19:08.90) and freshman Nasir Wallace (19:47.70) earned top-10 finishes as they placed sixth, seventh and ninth, respectively.

On Saturday, Sept. 25, Morgan will travel to Princess Anne, Maryland to compete in the UMES Shore Invitational.
