NORFOLK, Va. (March 31, 2021)-Morgan State senior outside hitter
Tylar Roberson has been named to the All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) second team, as announced by the league office today.

North Carolina A&T State senior setter/right side hitter Edie Brewer was named MEAC Player of the Year. Last season (2019) Brewer shared MEAC Co-Player of the Year honors with former Morgan State Lady Bear,
Zoe McBride.

Coppin State racked up the remaining MEAC honors, as Chudear Tut was named MEAC Rookie of the Year and Kareemah Hopkins earned MEAC Setter of the Year honors. Ashley Roman was named MEAC Defensive Player of the Year, while Tim Walsh garnered MEAC Coach of the Year accolades.

All awards were voted on by the conference's head coaches and sports information directors.

A 2019 MEAC All-Tournament Team selection, Roberson was named MEAC Player of the Week twice this season.

A native of Elkhart, Ind., Roberson led Morgan State with 142 kills, kills per set at 3.30 and service aces (14). She ranked second on the team in digs with 110 and digs per set at 2.56 and finished fourth with a total of 12 blocks, including two solo blocks.

Roberson concluded the regular season ranked in the top 10 in the MEAC in kills per set (3
rd) and digs per set (8
th). She reached double figures in kills seven times and digs six times, while collecting four double-doubles. Roberson hit for a season-high .378, a season-best 19 kills and totaled 12 digs at Coppin State (3/22) to earn her fourth double-double of the season. Her season-high of 15 digs also came against rival Coppin State (3/11). She would add 13 kills in that match to secure her third double-double on the season. Roberson began the Spring 2021 campaign recording 15 kills, 10 digs, an assist, a service ace and two blocks in a five-set loss at Temple (1/23) in the season opener.
