BALTIMORE, Md. (March 28, 2021)-The Morgan State women's track and field team returned to the track on Saturday, as they competed in the Navy Spring Invitational, hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. The Lady Bears finished the day producing 13 top-five finishes and one individual champion.

Ayanna Henry captured Morgan State's lone gold for the weekend, when she recorded a personal-best 19-02.50 to win the long jump.
Miazziah Rose also set a personal-best and placed fourth with a jump of 17-09.75, while
Aylexus Leshay had a leap of 16-04.25 to place eighth.
Â
Jannah Sharpe placed second in the hammer throw with a toss of 144-02.
Jaida West had a throw of 116-01 to finish fifth.
Â
West (37-00.25) and Sharpe (31-05.25) would place fourth and fifth, respectively in the shot put, while
Micaela Fleetwood came in sixth with a mark of 25-10.75.

Leshay finished third in the triple jump with a leap of 37-05.25. Henry came in fifth with a jump of 36-04.75.

Rose had a height of 5-01.00 in the high jump to place tied for sixth-place.

On the track,
Yasmine George claimed fifth in the 200 meter dash after crossing the line in a time of 25.81 and also finished seventh in the 100 meter dash in a time of 12.67.

Alliayah Ottley ran a time of 14.89 seconds to finish fourth in the 100 meter hurdles, while Dajah Tinsley came in fifth at 14.93 seconds. Tinsley also placed fourth in the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 1:05.46.

The Lady Bears' 4X400 meter relay team of

Dejah Tinsley,
Michelle Kamara and
Yasmine George ran a time of 4:07.32 to cross the line in fourth.

Next up for Morgan State will be the Towson Invitational scheduled for Friday-Saturday, April 2-3 at Towson University.
