NORFOLK, Va. (Oct. 4, 2021)-Morgan State freshman
Madison Grace was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Rookie of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced today.
The MEAC Weekly honor marks back-to-back weeks for Grace, who earned the honor last week (Sept. 27) and her third time thus far. She also received the award on Sept. 13.
Valeria Otero of Delaware State was selected as MEAC Player of the Week, while North Carolina Central teammates Lauren Janok was named MEAC Setter of the Week and Alyssa Pieh was named MEAC Defensive Player of the Week, respectively.
Andrea Tesvetanova of Coppin State and Lauren Janok of North Carolina Central were selected as MEAC Co-Setter of the Week. Ashley Romain of Coppin State was named MEAC Defensive Player of the Week.
The 5-foot-10 outside hitter had an attack percentage of .351 and totaled 17 kills and two digs in Morgan's lone contest of the week against crosstown rival Coppin State (Oct. 1).
A native of Clinton Township, Mich., Grace has reached double-digit kills in seven straight matches and is averaging 15.3 kills per match through her first three MEAC contests.
