Men’s Cross Country Concludes Regular Season at Aubrey Shenk Invitational

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (Oct. 16, 2021) -- The Morgan State men's cross country team traveled to Gettysburg, Pa. to compete in the Aubrey Shenk Invitational 8K race, hosted by Gettysburg College on Saturday morning.
 
The Bears would conclude the regular season with a 11th-place team finish, while Justin Alston placed 33rd individually, crossing the line in a time of 28:31.80.
 
Mount St. Mary's won the team title with 45 points, while the Mount's John Wang captured the individual title in a time of 25:50.10.
 
Messiah came in second with 65 points, Elizabethtown (76 points) was third, Saint Francis (94) finished fourth and host Gettysburg placed fifth with 110 points.
 
The Bears' Devion Bryant (28:42.8) came in 40th, while Brandon Jones (31:47.90) and Keon Witherspoon (32:37.40) finished 77th and 81st, respectively. Kobe-Jordan Rhooms ran a time of 35:42.40 and placed 88thwhile Tarique Gooden (37:35.80) placed 92nd.
 
Morgan State will take the week off to enjoy homecoming festivities and will return on Friday Oct. 29 for the 2021 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship in Cary, N.C.
