Men's Cross Country Place Fifth at Jack Saint Clair Memorial

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (Oct. 8, 2021) -- The Morgan State men's cross country team claimed a fifth-place finish Saturday afternoon at the Jack Saint Clair Memorial hosted by Jefferson College in Philadelphia, Pa. 
 
Philadelphia Runner Track captured the team title with 20 points at the 8k run held at Belmont Plateau Park. Lebanon Valley finished in second place with 80 points and Jefferson College third with 83 points. Wilmington placed fourth with 122 points, while the Bears were fifth (160 pts) in a field of 16 total teams.
 
Freshman standout Devion Bryant paced the Bears  by crossing the tape in 24th place with a time 29:21.6. 
 
Freshman Jackson Waller (29:26.0) and sophomore Justin Alston (29:35.0) finished in 26th and 27th place, respectively.

Brandon Jones put up a 32:40.6 (64th) and Keon Witherspoon finished 71st (33:11.2).

The Bears will return to action Saturday (Oct. 16) at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational in Gettysburg, Pa.
