Tylar Roberson was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Player of the Week, while freshman
Gabriela Hiciano was named MEAC Co-Rookie of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced today.

This is the first-ever MEAC Weekly honor for Roberson. Hiciano shares the honor with Paola Matos of Norfolk State. Norfolk State's Heliceliz Rivera earned Setter of the Week honors and teammate Nicole Rodriguez was named Defensive Specialist of the Week.

A native of Elkhart, Ind., Roberson recorded a double-double in Morgan State's season-opening loss at Temple (1/23). The outside hitter totaled a team-high 15 kills and had 10 digs, while adding two blocks and a service ace in the five-set defeat to the Owls. It was the 14th career double-double for Roberson at Morgan State and her fourth straight dating back to last season.

Hiciano nearly had a double-double of her own against Temple, finishing the match with 11 digs and nine kills in her collegiate debut. The Carolina, Puerto Rico native, also recorded two service aces and assisted on a block. Â
