IRVING, Texas (Sept. 17, 2020) – The National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame announced today it will continue its partnership with the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) through a video series aimed at showcasing the conference's top scholar-athletes. The initiative, The MEAC Minute presented by The National Football Foundation, will capture video interviews with the leaders from each of the conference's nine football-playing institutions. Watch the first video in the series with Morgan State QB Raequan Beal.

"We are extremely pleased to share our national spotlight with the MEAC," said NFF President & CEO Steve Hatchell. "The MEAC provides its players a unique opportunity to play Division I football while receiving a top-flight education from one the nation's finest HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities). We look forward to helping document what the experience means to the exceptional players who currently star on and off the field in the conference."

The initiative will focus on what it means to be a student-athlete in the MEAC and represent an HBCU institution; the player's long-term aspirations after graduation; how each player is spending their time during COVID-19; their thoughts on the suspended season; and what they miss most about not playing this season. The interviews will be promoted throughout the fall semester on the MEAC and NFF social media platforms.

"We are elated to partner with the NFF in their efforts to shine a light on the top student-athletes during the MEAC's 50thAnniversary," said MEAC Commissioner Dr. Dennis E. Thomas, who also serves on the NFF Board of Directors. "The MEAC Minute Presented by The National Football Foundation provides us with an opportunity to raise the profile of the MEAC brand while providing our student-athletes a chance to share their thoughts on the value of playing in the MEAC and obtaining their degrees."
