Eastern Shore Invite Results

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Feb. 1, 2020)-The Morgan State women's track and field team posted 16 top-10 finishes, including two ECAC qualifiers and two second-place finishes on Saturday during the Navy Invitational II at the Wesley A. Brown Fieldhouse on the Naval Academy campus.
 
Valencia McDowell ran an ECAC qualifying time of 2:12.08 to place second in the 800 meter run, while Miazziah Rose also had a second-place finish, as she recorded a season-best height of 5-5.00 in the high jump.
 
Jannah Sharpe collected the Lady Bears' second ECAC qualifying mark of the day with her fourth-place finish in the weight throw with a toss of 54-6.50. Nadirah Umrani-Sanders had a throw of 47-0.25 to come in ninth.
 
Ayanna Henry had a mark of 36-11.75 to place fourth in the triple jump, while Jordan Williams posted a leap of 34-4.25 for sixth.
 
In the shot put, Jada West had a throw of 40-6.00 to come in seventh and Eve D'Antignac had a toss of 35-0.25 to place 10^th.
 
Back on the track, Alliayah Ottley came in fifth in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.98 and teammate Nofisat Adeyemi was sixth with a time of 9.21.
 
Dinedye Denis posted a fifth-place finish in the 200 meter dash after crossing the line in 25.18 seconds. Destiny Thompson ran a time of 7.88 seconds to finish sixth in the 60 meter dash.
 
Morgan State placed three in the top-10 in the 400 meter dash. Michelle Kamara finished seventh in a time of 59.24 seconds, while Deja Tinsley came in ninth in a time of 59.97. Kimani Davis ran a time of 1:00.16 to finish 10^th.   
 
The Lady Bears' 4X400 meter relay team of Kimani Davis, Dejah Tinsley, Michelle Kamara and Destiny Thompson finished ninth with a time of 4:08.93.
 
Fellow teammates Diamond Moore and Micaela Fleetwood both competed in the pentathlon on Friday in the Eastern Shore Invite held at the Hytche Athletic Center on the campus of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
 
Moore captured the pentathlon title with 3018 points, while Fleetwood finished second with 2734 points.
 
Next up for the Lady Bears will be a trip to State College, Pa. to compete in the Penn State Tune-Up on Friday, Feb. 21.
