Morgan Men Have Solid Outing at Howard University Labor Day Classic

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Aug. 31, 2019)– The Morgan State men's cross country opened the 2019 campaign with a solid outing at the Howard University Labor Day Classic on Saturday at Kenilworth Park finishing two runners in the top-10.

Howard sophomores Gavin Williams (16:16.42) and Ayoade Adebiyi (16:36.79) placed first and second-place, respectively. Catholic freshman John O'Rourke finished third-place with a time of 16:40.12.

Crossing the finish line first for the Bears was freshman Keegan Gould, who ran a time of 17:21.94 for eighth-place overall. Placing right behind Gould was fellow freshman Justin Alston, who took ninth place with a time of 17:32.71.

Freshman Joseph Okonofua earned 23^rdplace (19:13.62). sophomore Elisee Djapa 24^th(19:24.84) and freshman Justin Coelho placed 25^th(19:24.84) to round out the top five for the Bears.

The Bears next compete Saturday, September 7 at the DSU Hornet Invitational in Smyrna, Delaware. Start time is set for 10 a.m.
