East Preliminary Round Declared Athletes
BALTIMORE, Md. (May 16, 2019)-Morgan State's 4X400 relay team of
Annastacia Barham,
Infinnatie Rowe,
Valencia McDowell and
Dinedye Denis will compete in the NCAA Division I Track & Field East Preliminary Championships, hosted by the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla. and the Jacksonville Sports Council (May 23-25).
Kimani Davis and
Daijah Davis-Hines will serve as alternates on the relay team. Barham will also compete individually in the 400 meter dash for a chance to advance to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held June 5-8 at the University of Texas.
Earlier in the day the NCAA released its list of declared athletes for the NCAA East and West Preliminary Rounds. Barham, who will be one of 48 athletes competing in the 400 meter prelims, will compete on Thursday, May 23 with first round heats beginning at 7:20 p.m. The women's 4X400 relay will get underway with quarterfinal action on Saturday, May 25 at 9:25 p.m.
The top 12 finishers in each open and relay event will qualify for the semifinal and final rounds of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships to be held at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the University of Texas campus in Austin, Texas.
