BALTIMORE, Md. (March 26, 2019)-The Morgan State softball team will return to action on Wednesday, March 27, when it visits The George Washington Colonials in a non-conference doubleheader at GW Softball Field on the Mount Vernon campus.

The doubleheader will be streamed live on ESPN+ and gets underway at 2 p.m.

This will be the first meeting between the two programs since an 8-2 win for GW on Feb. 22 2015 in the finale of the Citrus Classic at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Fla.

The Lady Bears (7-17) are coming off a 6-5 home victory over Norfolk State on Sunday in the series finale against the Spartans. Morgan State would drop the previous two contests by the scores of 7-0 and 6-5 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) season opening weekend for both teams. It would be the Lady Bears' first MEAC series loss since dropping two of three games in last season's series opener at Hampton (March 17-18), ending a streak of five consecutive MEAC series victories where Morgan State would go 14-1 during that stretch.

George Washington (22-9) also opened up conference play over the weekend and dropped its Atlantic 10 series opener at home to Fordham, losing two of the three games. The visiting Rams would take the opener, 9-4 and claimed the series finale, 4-2. The host Colonials' lone victory would come in Game 2 by a score of 6-3.
