BALTIMORE, Md. (May 10, 2026)--Morgan State junior pitcher

Olivia Garner were named to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) All-Tournament Team, following Saturday's championship game between Howard and South Carolina State at TowneBank Softball Field in Norfolk, Va.

A native of Sydney, Australia, Cousins pitched 15 innings, surrendering eight runs on nine hits, allowing only two earned runs, while tossing eight strikeouts in three games. Twice she recorded a game-high three strikeouts against Norfolk State and Coppin State. As a batter she totaled a hit, a walk and 2 RBI.

Garner collected three hits, including a home run, 4 RBI, scored twice and drew three walks in three games. A native of West Chester, Pa., she began the tournament going 2-for-2 with 3 RBI, two walks and a run scored in the opening win over Norfolk State. In the quarterfinal match-up against Howard, Garner finished 1-for-2 with an RBI, including a solo homer hit to left field, giving the Lady Bears a 2-0 lead in the third inning.

Morgan State ended the season with a 15-28 record and entered the MEAC Softball Championship as the fifth seed with a 9-12 mark. The Lady Bears closed out the regular season on a five-game winning streak, including a three-game sweep of rival Coppin State, which would finish as the sixth seed.

The Lady Bears began the tournament defeating host and fourth-seeded Norfolk State, 6-3 in the opening round on Wednesday, May 6. Later that evening, Morgan State would fall to eventual back-to-back champion Howard, 11-2 in a quarterfinal contest, before falling to Coppin State, 4-3 in an elimination game.
