GAME TIME
• Morgan State looks to end a tough season with a victory when they host the Norfolk State Spartans on Saturday, Nov. 18 at Hughes Stadium. The game will be broadcast by WEAA, 88.9FM.
• The Bears enter the 2017 season under the leadership of Fred T. Farrier who had the interim tag removed and assumed the full-time position as MSU's head football coach.
• MSU fell to 1-9 with a heartbreaking 33-30 loss last weekend at Delaware State. Norfolk State suffered a 28-24 loss at Howard last Saturday and fell to 3-7 overall and 3-4 in the conference.

WEAA, 88.9 FM is the flagship station for the Morgan State Bears ... Lamont Germany will call the play-by-play with Kelvin Bridgers in the booth. The game will be broadcast live on 88.9 FM and streamed on WEAA.org.
THE SERIES
• Saturday's matchup marks the 32nd meeting between the two schools.
• Norfolk State leads the series with an overall record of 17-11 (3 NSU wins vacated).
• The Spartans have won 11 of the last 13 meetings against Morgan State since 2005, including a string of 10-straight since 2007.
• The last time Morgan State beat the Spartans was on Nov. 4, 2006 when the Bears walked out of William " Dick" Price Stadium with a 29-20 victory.
QUICK HITS
• After Week 11, the Bears rank T-No. 7 in the FCS in total TFL (84) and No. 26 in team sacks (27).
• Eric Harrell's 87-yard TD run at Bethune-Cookman was the longest run by the Bears since Travis "Juice" Davidson raced 70-yards against Savannah State in 2012.
• In the last three games, sophomore QB DeAndre Harris (6-3, 200) has completed 37 of 60 passes for 553 yards and seven TDs.
• Against Delaware State, sophomore WR Manassah Bailey caught 3 TD passes; he has 5 TDs for the season.
• Sophomore LB Rico Kennedy leads the team in total tackles (65) and ranks No. 1 in the MEAC with 19.0 TFL (No. 2 in FCS) and is No. 2 in sacks (7.5).
• R-junior QB Elijah Staley's (6-7, 240) three touchdown passes vs. Savannah State was the most by a Bear quarterback since Chris Andrews tossed three TDs against Howard on Sept. 24, 2016.
• MSU's season-high 48 points vs. Savannah State was the most points scored by the Bears since defeating Delaware State at Hughes Stadium by a score of 69-7 on Nov. 22, 2014.
• Senior WR Amonta Poteat set career highs with seven catches and 99 receiving yards against Florida A&M.His previous highs was six catches vs. Holy Cross in the 2016, and his previous high in receptions yards was earlier this season when he had 47 yards on five catches at Towson.
• Fred T. Farrier's Bears are predicted to finish 8th in the MEAC's 2017 Preseason Order of Finish.
A GLANCE AT THE SPARTANS
• Norfolk State finished 2016 with an overall mark of 4-7 and finished 3-5 in MEAC play under head coach Latrell Scott.
• Caylin Newton scored with five seconds left to cap a fourth-quarter rally to give Howard its fifth straight win, topping Norfolk State 28-24 on Saturday. Trailing 24-14 in the fourth quarter, Bryan Cook picked off a Norfolk State pass in the end zone to start the comeback and Newton engineered a 90-yard, nine-play drive that opened with a 59-yard run by Anthony Philyaw. Dezmond Wortham capped the drive with a 3-yard run to make it 24-21 with 8:06 remaining.
• Head coach Latrell Scott's (Hamptonl, '99) offense is ranked No. 11 in the MEAC averaging 258.6 yards of total offense (77.1 rushing; 181.5 passing). They have scored 4 rushing TDs and 12 passing. The Spartans average 2.8 yards per rush and 5.7 per pass, including 10.8 per catch.
• NSU's offense is led by freshman QB Juwan Carter (6-0,170). The Richmond (Va.) native has completed 151-of-288 passes (52.4%) for 1,688 yards, with 12 TDs and 6 INTs in 10 games.
• RB Aaron Savage is averaging 35.1 rushing yards per game with a TD. The 5-10, 210 pound Baltimore native (Dunbar HS) junior has 351 yards on 79 carries (4.4 avg). He also has 12 receptions for 101 yards.
• Marcus Taylor (5-8, 160), J.T. Wahee (5-11, 170) and Isaiah Winstead (6-3, 205) lead the Spartans air attack. Taylor has 58 catches for 613 yards (10.6 avg) and leads the team with five TDs, while Wahee has 28 catches for 333 yards and a TD. Winstead has 281 yards on 25 receptions and has two TDs.
• NSU is allowing 421.8 yards of total offense (rushing 230.4; passing 191.4). The Spartans have also forced 22 turnovers (15 INTs; 7 FRs). Opponents are averaging 5.9 yards per play. The Spartans have recorded 47 TFL.
• NSU's D is led by senior linebackers Anthony Smith and Kyle Archie. Smith, (6-0, 230) leads the league with 115 tackles, while Archie (6-0, 220) ranks No. 5 with 82 stops.
NOTABLE NATIONAL NOTES
Here are a few 2017 FCS national statistics of note on offense, defense and special teams that pertained to the Bears:
• Rico Kennedy currently ranks in the No. 2 in the FCS in tackles for loss (19.0) and Malachi Washington ranks No. 6 (17.0). Corvon'Tra Revell is tied for T-No. 3 in the nation with 3 blocks.
• The Bears rank T-No. 7 in tackles for loss (84).
• The Bears rank T-No. 3 in blocked kicks (6).
• The Bears rank No. 26 in sacks (27).
• The Bears rank No. 33 in sacks allowed (13).
• The Bears rank No. 33 in punt returns (9.38).

The Bears have a pair of student-athletes currently on the roster from the state of Virginia ... Morgan State's Corvon'Tra Revell is from Suffolk and attended Lakeland HS; and Torrance Little Jr. is from Richmond and graduated from Monacan HS.
