GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Morgan State men's track & field team had a solid showing at the 71^st annual Florida Relays held at James G. Pressly Stadium in Gainesville, Fla.
 
Deyvon Howell got the meet started on day one for the Bears in the 100m dash. He placed 56^th with a time of 10.85.
 
Haneef Hardy then competed in the 400m where he grabbed 55^th with a time of 48.81, while teammate Joel Roberson failed to finish as a result of a false start.
 
MSU's Onyx Johnson recorded a 30^th place finish in the 800m by posting a season best time of 1:50.73.
 
Evan Johnson recorded a season best time of 52.30 in the 400m hurdles – good enough for 26^th place.
 
Things really got rolling for the Bears with the men's 4x400m 'A' relay. The team comprised of Evan Johnson, Joel Roberson, Haneef Hardy and Onyx Johson qualified for the finals with a time of 3:09.55q (the fastest time turned in by the Bears this spring). In the finals, the Bears stormed around Percy Beard Track for a 6th place finish clocking in at 3:10.09.

On Saturday, the 4x100m 'A' relay team comprised of Nigel Thompson, Rolando Reid, Deyvon Howell and Joel Roberson placed 14^th and set an IC4A qualifying time by running a 40.65.
 
The Bears 4x200m relay team also ran well finishing in sixth place with a time of 1:24.03.
 
In the field events, Nigel Thompson and Christopher Simon placed ninth and 11^th, respectively, in the long jump. Thompson set a top-10 leap by posting a 6.79 (22-03.50), while Simon recorded 6.68m (21-11.00).
 
Keith Davis tossed a 60.57m (198-09) to place 12^th in the javelin.
