BALTIMORE, Md. (Feb. 7, 2015)-The Morgan State women's tennis team traveled to Annapolis, Md. on Saturday for a non-conference match against the Naval Academy and lost, 5-2.
 
The Lady Bears fell to 0-7 on the season, while Navy improved to 5-2.
 
Morgan State's victories came at the No. 1 and No. 3 singles positions. Danielle Thompson defeated Sam Droop 3-6, 6-4, 10-7 in a No. 1 match and Cierra Plummer defeated Katie Porter 6-4, 6-7 (8), 12-10 at No. 3.
 
The Mids would win the remaining four singles matches and won the match with doubles victories at No. 1 and No. 3 singles to claim the doubles point.
 
The Lady Bears' duo of Thompson and Chelsi Russell earned a 6-2 victory at No. 2 doubles.
 
Morgan State returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 8, when it travels to Blacksburg, Va. to take on 50^th ranked Virginia Tech at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center. The match can be viewed via live stats at http://www.hokiesports.com/wtennis/live/
