CARY, N.C. (Oct. 3, 2026)--Morgan State tennis made history on Saturday at the third annual MEAC Fall Tennis Invitational at Cary Tennis Park.
On the women's side second-seeded
Michaela Stephens defeated Norfolk State's Yuliya Yurkova 6-1, 7-5 in the semifinals to advance to Sunday's championship match. With her win, Stephens became the first Morgan player to reach the title match.
Stephens, who earned a bye into the quarterfinal round, on Friday came-from-behind to defeat South Carolina State's Katerina Marsalkova in the quarterfinals 2-6, 7-6 (6), 6-2.
Sunday's women's championship match between Stephens and Norfolk State's Julia Daroszewska, will meet at 9 a.m.
