NORFOLK, Va. (Nov. 13, 2015)-The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced its 2015 All-MEAC selections on Friday as voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors. Morgan State sophomore, Keanna Brown and senior
Carmen Fernandez were selected to the second and third teams, respectively. It marks the second straight season the Lady Bears have had two players named to the all-conference teams.

Browne led the Lady Bears in kills (258) and blocks with 60, including a team-high 10 solo blocks. The Virginia Beach, Va., native also led the MEAC in hitting percentage (.324). Browne had 11 double digits matches in kills this season, including a career-high 18 kills at Coppin State (10/16). Browne recorded two or more blocks 16 times and tallied a career-high five blocks against Sacred Heart (9/18).

Browne garnered UIC Invitational All-Tournament Team honors after recording 23 kills, seven blocks, including three solos and three digs in three matches in Chicago (9/6). Browne later earned MEAC Player of the Week honors (10/5) after finishing with 14 kills, a .500 hitting percentage, a team-high three blocks and had two digs in a four-set victory over Howard.

Fernandez led the Lady Bears with 839 assists, while adding 163 digs, 26 blocks and 28 service aces. She ranks second in the MEAC in assists per set with 9.02 and is ninth among conference leaders in service aces per set 0.30.

The Bayamon, Puerto Rico native concluded the regular season totaling 92 assists and nine digs against Howard and Coppin State to lead the Lady Bears to a 1-1 weekend and earn MEAC Player of the Week honors (11/9). It was her second consecutive MEAC weekly honor and third all-time for her career.

In the season finale against rival Coppin State, Fernandez finished with a career- and conference-high 60 assists and added four digs in Morgan State's five-set win on 'Senior Day' over the rival Eagles. With the win the Lady Bears finished the season with a 5-2 mark at Hill Field House and secured the No. 2 seed out of the MEAC Northern Division.

Fernandez recorded seven double-doubles this season in assists and digs, including a season-high 14 digs in a win over Loyola-Maryland at the Delaware Invitational (9/19). She also set a career-high five blocks at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (9/11).

The MEAC championship tournament will be held Nov. 20-22, 2015 at the Hytche Athletic Center on the campus of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, Md. Morgan State, the second-seed in the MEAC Northern Division will take on No. 3 seed North Carolina A&T out of the southern division on Friday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m.
