NORFOLK, Va. (Nov. 20, 2014)–The Morgan State volleyball team had four players named to the 2014 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball All-Academic Team, as announced today by the league office.
Those players named for Morgan State were senior captain Zuri Smith, senior co-captain Tamara Leslie, junior Shayna Hunt-Colon and sophomore Haley McClure.
The MEAC Volleyball All-Academic Team consisted of 79 student-athletes who achieved academic success during the 2013-14 school year. The MEAC recognizes student-athletes with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average, including sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as transfer student-athletes, who have been in residence at the institution for at least one year.
"I would like to congratulate the volleyball student-athletes have maintained a 3.0 or better grade point average," said Commissioner Dennis E. Thomas. "I would like to acknowledge the accomplishments of these student-athletes, the athletic academic support staff and coaching staffs who contributed to the academic success."
