BALTIMORE, Md. (August 30, 2026)--Morgan State senior transfer
Michaela Panekova was named to the Steel Classic All-Tournament Team, following Saturday afternoon's finale match between Morgan State and host Lehigh in Bethlehem, Pa.

A native of Zilina, Slovakia, Panekova played in all three matches, posting a team-high 22 kills, nine digs, five blocks and an assist in nine sets over the weekend.

The outside hitter had her best outing against the host Mountain Hawks on Saturday, recording nine kills and four digs, both season highs, along with a block. Earlier in the day, Panekova totaled three blocks, to go with seven kills, two digs and an assist against Gardner-Webb. In Friday's season opener against Cleveland State, Panekova earned six kills, three digs and a block in her Morgan State debut.

Morgan State returns to action on Friday, Sept. 4, when it hosts Saint Peter's for its home opener at 6 p.m. The Bears will then face Loyola Maryland in a Battle of Cold Spring Lane match-up on Saturday at 4 p.m. and will close out the weekend against another local rival in Towson on Sunday at 2 p.m. All three matches will be played at Hill Field House.
