NORFOLK, Va. (Oct. 19, 2026)--Morgan State senior outside hitter
Jada Williams was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Player of the Week, while sophomore setter
Isabelle Brown was named MEAC Setter of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
This is Williams' first weekly honor, while Brown secured her third weekly honor this season and the fifth overall.
Coppin State's Coco Figueroa was named MEAC Defensive Player of the Week and South Carolina State's Ki'ra Wright was named MEAC Rookie of the Week.
Williams and Brown helped to lead Morgan State to an exciting 3-2 come-from-behind reverse sweep road victory over crosstown rival Coppin State on Friday. The win ended the Eagles' 12-match MEAC winning streak and also put an end to Morgan State's 14-match losing skid to Coppin State.
Williams, a native of Fredericksburg, Va., recorded her third double-double of the season, finishing with 13 kills and a career-high 11 blocks (3 solo), while adding two assists and a service ace in the win.
A native of Avon, Ind., Brown collected 42 assists, a career-high 19 digs, five kills, while hitting .500, five blocks and two service aces in the thrilling victory over Coppin State. It was her sixth double-double of the season.
The Bears will now look to build upon their momentum and extend their four-match winning streak as they prepare for the second half of the conference slate. Morgan State will welcome Norfolk State to Hill Field House on Friday, Oct. 23 for its Hall of Fame/Alumni Night match. First serve is at 5 p.m. and will air live on the MEAC Network.
