NORFOLK, Va. (April 4, 2026)--Morgan State sophomore outfielder

Serena Rodriguez capped off the regular season by sweeping the final Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) weekly softball honors of the season. Pagano was named MEAC Player of the Week, while Rodriguez was named MEAC Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.

This is the first weekly honor this season for Pagano and the second for Rodriguez, who also earned the honor on March 2
nd.

Pagano batted .500 for the week, going 4-for-8 at the plate with two triples, 3 RBI and three runs scored to help Morgan State to a 2-0 week, following its doubleheader win at Bowie State.

The Staten Island, N.Y. native recorded two hits, including a triple and scored a run in the 4-2 opening game victory. She then finished with another 2-for-4 performance, a triple, 3 RBI and two runs in the finale win over the Bulldogs.

Rodriguez concluded the regular season earning a win and a save, while sporting an ERA of .000 to help the Lady Bears to a 2-0 week in series finale against Bowie State.

A native of Simi Valley, Calif., Rodriguez pitched 6.1 innings, allowing no runs on eight hits and tossing seven strikeouts. Begna the series throwing a game-high six strikeouts, while surrendering four hits and no runs in 3.0 innings of work to earn a save. She then went 3.1 scoreless innings to secure her fifth win of the season.

Morgan State (14-26, 9-12 MEAC) enters this week's MEAC softball championship as the No. 5 seed and will face host Norfolk State, the No. 4 seed in opening round action on Wednesday, March 6 at 11 a.m. at TowneBank Softball Field.
