Morgan State Tennis Teams To Face Hampton On Sunday

BALTIMORE, Md. (April 1, 2026)--The Morgan State men's and women's tennis teams will welcome former Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) foe Hampton this Sunday, April 5 for a non-conference match at Lake Clifton Park Courts. First serve is at 10 a.m. on Easter morning.

Hampton's women's (8-7) and men's (3-9) teams will visit Coppin State on Saturday, April 4, before facing Morgan State.

The Lady Bears (10-7) enter the contest coming off a successful MEAC Round-Up last weekend in Norfolk, Va., going 2-1. Morgan State defeated host Norfolk State (6-1) and defending MEAC champion South Carolina State (5-2), before falling to North Carolina Central (4-3) in the finale.

The win over S.C. State was a season-long sixth consecutive victory for Morgan, which was the program's longest winning streak since the 2018 season. That season Morgan State won five straight at the end the season, capped off with a 4-1 win over Hampton in the MEAC title match.

The Lady Bears have dropped two straight and six of the last nine matches against Hampton. Last season the Lady Pirates held off Morgan State, 4-3 in Hampton, Va. (4/13/25).

Morgan State's men's team (5-10) dropped all three of its matches at the MEAC Round-Up, falling to North Carolina Central (7-0), defending champion South Carolina State (6-1) and host Norfolk State (2-5).

The Bears are on a nine-match winning streak against the Pirates, after winning nine of the last 10 meetings dating back to the 2005 season. Last season the Bears earned a 5-2 victory on the road at Hampton (4/13/25).
