MEAC Announces 2026 Women’s Tennis Championship Seeding and Matchups

Lady Bears secure No. 1 seed, advance to semifinals.

NORFOLK, Va. (April 15, 2026)--
The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) has announced the official women's tennis bracket for the 2026 MEAC Tennis Championship, scheduled for April 23–25 at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina. 
 
Morgan State and Norfolk State were named co-regular season champions after both programs concluded conference play with identical 5–1 records. Morgan State secured the tournament's No. 1 seed entering postseason competition based on its head-to-head victory over Norfolk State in MEAC play. 
 
Morgan State enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed and receives a first-round bye, advancing directly to the semifinals. The Lady Bears will open tournament play on Friday, April 24 at 9 a.m., facing the winner of the matchup between No. 4 North Carolina Central and No. 5 Delaware State. 
 
North Carolina Central and Delaware State will meet in a first-round contest on Thursday, April 23 at 8 a.m. 
 
On the opposite side of the bracket, No. 2 seed Norfolk State will open tournament play against No. 7 Coppin State on Thursday, April 23 at 8 a.m. 
 
No. 3 seed Howard will face No. 6 seed South Carolina State later that morning, with first serve scheduled for 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 23. 
 
Winners from Thursday's matches will advance to the semifinal round on Friday, leading into the championship match on Saturday, April 25 at 9 a.m. 
 
The championship match will be aired live on ESPN+, with first serve scheduled for 9 a.m.
