BALTIMORE, Md. (March 16, 2026)--The Morgan State softball team concludes its trip to the Carolinas when it pays a visit to a familiar opponent from the past in North Carolina A&T State. The two former Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) foes will renew their rivalry on Tuesday, March 17 in a non-conference doubleheader at 1 p.m. at Lady Aggies Softball Complex in Greensboro.
 
Fans can watch the games live on FloSoftball or follow along with live stats. The matchup will be the first meeting between Morgan State and N.C. A&T since the Lady Bears defeated the Lady Aggies, 8-3 in the Elon Softball Classic (2/11/23).
 
The last time Morgan State and N.C. A&T met as MEAC foes was on April 16, 2021 in the MEAC Round-Up in Orangeburg, S.C. The Aggies would win the MEAC's mid-season event, 7-4 in a contest which featured the league's northern and southern division leaders. Earlier that season the two were also scheduled to meet in a non-conference doubleheader in Greensboro, but the first half of the schedule would be canceled due to Covid-19.
 
The Aggies, now members of the Coastal Athletic Conference (CAA), would leave the MEAC following the 2021 season.
 
Morgan State (1-15, 0-3 MEAC) enters the A&T doubleheader on a five-game losing skid, after dropping all three contests on the road to South Carolina State in the MEAC opener over the weekend. It was the first time the Lady Bears were swept in a MEAC series since back-to-back weekends last season with losses to Norfolk State and at Howard.
 
The Lady Bears have been paced by Millie Cousins, who is batting .323 with 10 hits, including a home run and 4 RBI. Hunter Newman, who is batting .306 has a team-leading 15 hits, including a team-high three home runs and a team-best 6 RBI. Olivia Pagano is batting .244 with 11 hits, including a triple and two home runs and has totaled a team-high 11 runs. Pagano also leads the team in stolen bases, going a perfect 4-for-4.
 
Serena Rodriguez has thrown a team-best 15 strikeouts in 44.1 innings pitched and recorded one save. Millie Cousins pitched the team's lone victory and has tossed 12 strikeouts on the season in 36.1 innings of work.
 
North Carolina A&T (13-18, 0-6 CAA) has dropped three straight and seven of its last nine games, after being swept by UNC Wilmington in a three-game CAA series over the weekend.
 
The Lady Aggies have been led by Aniya Merritt, who is batting a team-best .405 with a team-leading 30 hits, 14 runs, 6 RBI and is 5-for-5 in stolen bases. Katriel Williams is batting .286 with 18 hits, 16 runs and leads the team with 10 stolen bases on 11 attempts. Jamari Moss has a team-best 29 RBI, with a team-high seven homers, 21 hits, 14 runs and 12 walks.
 
MSU-NC A&T SERIES NOTES: Morgan State has won three of the last five meetings against the Lady Aggies dating back to the 2012 season. The two teams last met during the 2023 season with Morgan State defeating the Lady Aggies, 8-3 in the Elon Softball Classic (2/11/23). The win ended a two-game losing skid to N.C. A&T.
