Morgan State Signs 55 During National Signing Day

BALTIMORE, Md. (February 5, 2026) -- Morgan State head football coach Damon Wilson has officially announced the program's 2026 recruiting class, welcoming 55 new student-athletes as the Bears continue to build depth and talent across the roster.

The class features 32 offensive additions, 22 defensive newcomers, and one specialist, reflecting a balanced approach as Morgan State strengthens key position groups on both sides of the ball.

"I believe the staff did an outstanding job ensuring we addressed our needs," said Wilson. "It was a concentrated effort to balance our recruiting with a mix of transfer portal and high school student-athletes."

"We also emphasized keeping some of our local talent home," Wilson added. "We have a lot of new student-athletes in the program, and now it's time to work and build a bond."

On the offensive side of the ball, Morgan addressed multiple position groups, signing 10 offensive linemen, eight wide receivers, seven running backs, four quarterbacks, and three tight ends. The class strengthens both the skill positions and the line, adding competition and versatility for the seasons ahead.

Defensively, the Bears inked 22 newcomers, including nine defensive backs, eight defensive linemen, and five linebackers. Morgan State also signed a punter. This group adds size, speed, and athleticism at all three levels of the defense as the Bears look to bolster their presence on that side of the ball.

The 2026 class has a strong regional foundation with a broad national reach. 30 of the newcomers hail from Maryland, while five signees come from Virginia and three from Washington, D.C. In total, Morgan State's newest Bears represent 12 different states, highlighting the program's expanding recruiting footprint across the country.

With the class now officially in the fold, Morgan State turns its focus toward offseason development and preparation for the upcoming season.
