THE SERIES
• Saturday will mark the 69th meeting between the two schools.

• Morgan leads the series against Delaware State with an overall record of 42-27 since 1945.

•  The Bears have won 10 of the last 12 meetings since 2013, including a current string of 6 straight (2018-2025).

• In their last meeting on Nov. 4, 2025, the game went down to the wire. Still, a potential game-winning 45-yard field goal by Alex Amaya sailed wide as the Bears' second-half comeback came up just short in a 14-12 loss at Hughes Stadium during a nationally televised contest.

THE COACHES
• Damon Wilson enters his 5th season as Morgan's head coach. He previously spent 13 seasons as the head coach at Bowie State University, where he achieved three straight Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) conference championships.

•  DeSean Jackson enters his second season as Delaware State University's head football coach in 2025. He was hired on Dec. 27, 2024. In 2024, he completed his first season in a coaching role, serving as the offensive coordinator at Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, Calif. After being drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round of the 2008 NFL draft, Jackson played for 15 years in the league, becoming one of the best deep threats in NFL history.

THE 2026 SCHEDULE
Morgan State will open the 2026 regular season with back-to-back road contests, beginning with a CAA matchup at North Carolina A&T on Aug. 29, followed by an FBS showdown at Arizona State in Tempe, Ariz., on Sept. 5. The Bears return home for their home opener against Virginia University of Lynchburg on Sept. 12, before welcoming Robert Morris for Homecoming on Oct. 10. Morgan State will then open Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play at home against longtime rival Howard.

QUICK HITS
• The 2026 Morgan State Bears are under the leadership of fifth-year head coach Damon Wilson. Wilson, the 24th coach in school history, previously served 13 seasons as the head football coach at Bowie State. There, he won three straight Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) conference championships in 2021, 2019, and 2018; five NCAA playoff berths; and three CIAA Coach of the Year honors.

• Cameron Edge (6-2, 230) was named the starting quarterback for Morgan State, head coach Damon Wilson announced at the conclusion of preseason camp. Tahj Smith (6-1, 200), Raeden Oliver (6-3, 195), Howard Kennedy III (6-1, 204) and Timothy Cole II (5-10, 185) also remain in the mix as the Bears continue to develop depth at the position.

• The Bears have already passed their 2025 win total, after finishing 4-8 overall and 1-4 in MEAC play last year.

• As a result of last Saturday's 51-10 loss against South Carolina State, Morgan State dropped its third straight loss and fell to 5-4 overall and 0-2 in the MEAC.

• Edge directed the Bears' offense in his ninth career start for Morgan State against SCSU, completing 17 of 28 passes for 144 yards...he was sacked three times.
