NOTE THE QUOTE | COACH KEVIN BROADUS

On the team's performance:
"I just don't think we were ready to be great. A win tonight puts us in the upper echelon, and our guys have to learn how to carry over what we do in practice into games. They say we need to practice tomorrow, but if you're not going to do in games what you do in practice—and you allow teams to do things we specifically prepare for—you don't give yourself a chance to win. Giving up 50-plus points in the second half really hurt us. Our defense just wasn't good enough. We've got to get back to the lab and get it corrected."

"We also missed too many free throws. We missed 16 free throws when you count the one-and-ones, and you just can't win games like that. It might say 10 on the stat sheet, but those missed opportunities really hurt us."

On the main areas of focus for this team moving forward:
"Paying attention to detail. We've got to do a better job following the scouting report, and we've got to get tougher. When I say tougher, I mean defending and knowing exactly what we're supposed to do on both ends of the floor."

The Bears continue the conference slate on the road when they face the Delaware State Hornets on Saturday, Jan. 17.
