Rockets Blast Past Bears

TOLEDO, Ohio (September 13, 2025) — Morgan State battled hard in the opening quarter to stay within reach, but Toledo soon took command on Saturday afternoon at The Glass Bowl. After a scoring drought stalled the Bears' momentum, the Rockets seized control and pulled away, cruising to a 60-0 victory on their home field.

The 60-point margin marked Morgan State's heaviest defeat since a 65-0 setback against Rutgers on September 16, 2017. The matchup also served as the first-ever meeting between the Bears and Rockets, with Toledo improving to 2-1 on the season.

Morgan State (0-3) was unable to generate any scoring threats in the opening quarter, while Toledo got off to a tough start against one of the top defenses in the FCS, as the Rockets held just a 3-0 lead following a 28-yard field goal by Dylan Cunanan.

From that point forward, it was all Rockets as they would go on to score the next 43 points before the halftime break.

Morgan's passing offense struggled, with Kobe Muasau and John Griffith combining for 20 yards. Muasau completed 6-of-8 passes for 18 yards, and Griffith got in and connected on 3 of his 8 pass attempts for 2 yards.

Redshirt sophomore Jason Collins Jr., who entered the game as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's leading rusher with an average of 108.5 yards per contest, was held to just 17 yards on nine carries.
In contrast to Morgan, Toledo's passing game was explosive.

Tucker Gleason completed 13 of his 17 passes for 174 yards, including a touchdown, while John Allan Richter threw for 93 yards and two TDs.

Wideout Junior Vandeross III rang up Morgan for 45 receiving yards on six catches, including two touchdowns. Javon Brown added five receptions for a game-high 94 yards.

Chip Trayanum and Kenji Christian combined for four of the Rockets' five touchdown runs. Kalieb Osbourne added 49 yards and a score.
.
Morgan State will return home to host non-conference opponent Central State next Saturday afternoon at Hughes Stadium.
