BALTIMORE, Md. (April 17, 2025) — Morgan State men's tennis standout Mikeal Carpenter has earned the prestigious title of Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week. This honor comes as a result of Carpenter's performance on the court, leading the Bears to crucial victories.
The senior delivered an outstanding week for the Bears, earning a dominant 6-0, 6-3 win at Coppin State and a hard-fought 3-set victory against Hampton's Donte Armbrister (1-6, 6-1,6-2). He also teamed with Makkijha Brown to go 2-0 in doubles action.
Wednesday afternoon, the Suitland (Md.) product extended his already impressive winning streak to 12 matches, after posting a win against Howard's Howard's Michael Major (6-3, 6-2) solidifying his position as a formidable opponent. With a stellar 13-1 record in No. 1 singles he continues to be one of the best players in the conference.
As the season winds down, Carpenter's leadership becomes even more crucial for the Bears. With the MEAC Championships looming large, these final weeks are dedicated to fine-tuning. The team's success hinges on this final push, and Carpenter is poised to lead the charge.
