The contest renews a historic series between the former Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) rivals. Morgan State leads the all-time series, 44–38–3, which spans decades and includes some of the program's most memorable moments.

The Bears and Aggies are scheduled to meet again at Hughes Stadium on September 30, 2028, adding another chapter to the series.

The August 29 contest will serve as an early test for the Bears as they begin preparations for the 2026 campaign and rekindle a rivalry steeped in tradition and competitiveness.
