PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (Nov. 9, 2025)--The Morgan State volleyball team returned to the court on Sunday, as it traveled to Maryland Eastern Shore to face the Hawks in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) match at Hytche Athletic Center.

The host Hawks would defeat Morgan, 3-1 (25-23, 21-25, 24-26, 21-25) to avenge their loss to the Bears earlier this season in Baltimore. UMES improved to 10-16, 7-6 MEAC, while the Bears fell to 11-12, 8-5 MEAC.

Jada Williams recorded her first collegiate double-double with a match- and career-high 10 blocks, including two solo blocks and 14 kills, while hitting .684.
Daniela Ferreira led the way for Morgan State with a match-high 17 kills to go with five digs, an ace and seven blocks. Kameary Wardlaw totaled a match-high 14 digs.
Isabelle Brown tallied 21 assists, while
Mya Karrick added 15 assists and three service aces in the loss.

UMES was paced by Anjola Omolewa, who finished with 14 kills and had four blocks. Karielys Melendez collected 12 kills, seven digs, three assists and two aces, while Nkemjika Ikemefuna totaled 11 kills.

The Bears held a 15.0-7.0 blocking advantage over Maryland Eastern Shore for the match.

Morgan State hit a set-best .324 and had 15 kills in its opening set victory. Trailing 9-6, the Bears used a 4-0 spurt, which included three consecutive attach errors on UMES to give the Bears a 10-9 lead.

From that point on the two teams would go back-and-forth trading points, as neither team scored more than three consecutive points. After UMES scored three straight to take a 17-16 lead, Morgan State would put together back-to-back points three times to take a 24-21 advantage, following a kill and service ace from Williams. The Hawks would score the next two points to pull within 24-23, before
Aubrey Wilson go a kill to give the Bears the opening set win.

Morgan State will close out the regular season on Friday, Nov. 14 when it visits crosstown rival Coppin State for the Eagles' Senior Night. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. at PEC Arena and will air live on ESPN+.

The Eagles (19-11, 12-1 MEAC), who wrapped up the regular season title, went on the road to defeat Delaware State in five sets on Sunday afternoon in Dover, Del. Â
