BALTIMORE, Md. (Oct. 3, 2025)--Morgan State returned to the court on Friday evening for the first time since dropping a heartbreaking 3-2 loss at Howard on Sunday, where the Bears held a 2-0 lead, but were unable to close out. Playing in their annual Pink Out match, this time the Bears would flip the script against North Carolina Central, overcoming a 2-0 deficit to earn a reverse sweep of the Eagles with a 3-2 (18-25, 19-25, 25-22, 25-29, 15-11) win at Hill Field House.
Â
Morgan State improved to 5-8, 2-1 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), while N.C. Central dropped to 4-11, 1-2 MEAC. The Bears, who have won just two of the last nine meetings against NCCU, now trails the all-time series, 7-5.

Â
Morgan State was just in the same position five days ago in Washington, D.C.; up 2-0 and on cruise control until the bottom fell out. This time it would be the Bears creating and taking advantage of opportunities and riding the momentum wave to victory.
Â
Behind an attack percentage of .344 with 15 kills in the third set, the Bears began to mount their comeback. Trailing 21-20, Morgan would score the next three points capped off by a kill from Nemeth to put the hosts ahead 23-21. Â
Set 4 Morgan used a 7-1 run to take a 10-6 lead it would never relinquish. The Bears later used a 4-1 spurt to take their largest lead of the set at 22-14. Weems would end the scoring for the second consecutive set, as the Bears would win 25-22 to force a fifth and final set.
