BALTIMORE, Md. (Oct. 5, 2025)--The Morgan State volleyball team entered its contest against the South Carolina State Bulldogs riding high off of Friday's comeback win against North Carolina Central. They took this momentum into Sunday's action and garnered a clean sweep victory over S.C. State, 3-0 (25-14, 25-21, 25-22) at Hill Field House.

Morgan State improved to 6-8 overall, 3-1 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and has now won six consecutive sets in its last two matches. The victory was also the Bears' third straight home win, marking the first time the program has won three straight at Hill since the Spring 2021 season.

The Bears would avenge last season's loss to S.C. State, when the Bulldogs spoiled Morgan State's homecoming festivities and secured their first win-ever over Morgan State.

Selah Brashear hit .400 and led the Bears with a career- and match-high 13 kills. Daniella Ferreira had seven kills and
Isabelle Brown finished with a match-high 29 assists.
Mya Karrick and
Mele Taumoepeau each had eight digs.
The Bears came out intensely and utterly dominated the first set, winning by a score of 25-14. Brashear got five or her 13 kills in this set including the set clinching point.Â
Morgan followed the first set with an impressive come from behind win in the second set, being down by as much as seven points (6-13), before winning the second set by a score of 25-21.Â
South Carolina State (3-12, 0-3 MEAC), however, would not go down without a fight. But Morgan won the last set in a nailbiter with a score of 25-22.Â

Kiyah Felder led the Bulldogs with a team-high six kills and Miya Benson finished with a team-best nine digs. Arianna James totaled 10 assists in the loss.

Morgan State finished the match hitting .235 with 41 kills, while holding South Carolina State to 22 kills and a an attack percentage of -.022.
The Bears will be off until Sunday, Oct. when they welcome the University of Maryland Eastern Shore to Hill Field House for Morgan State's annual homecoming match. First serve is a 3 p.m.
