DURHAM, N.C. (Oct. 31, 2025)—North Carolina Central's Kamren Harper recorded a double-double with 22 kills and 21 digs, both match highs, as North Carolina Central defeated the Bears, 3-2 (25-19, 23-25, 22-25, 25-14, 15-8) in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) match on Friday evening at McDougald-McLendon Arena.

Manuela Cripa Nasser also had a double-double, finishing with a match-high 54 assists and adding 11 digs. Loren Johnson tallied 19 digs, while Neira Joldic and Makenzi Searcy added 11 and 10 digs, respectively. Allyson Rouse collected 13 kills to help the Eagles avenge their early season loss at Morgan State.

NCCU improved to 8-15 on the season and 5-5 in the MEAC. Morgan State dropped to 9-11, 6-4 in the MEAC.

Three Bears would record double-doubles, but it wasn't enough. Daniela Ferreira notched her second double-double of the season, finishing with team highs of 13 kills and 18 digs. Isabelle Brown also collected her second double-double, as she had 35 assists and 10 digs. Hanna Nemeth secured her third double-double of the season, totaling 14 digs and 10 kills. Aubrey Wilson finished with 10 kills and Tameary Wardlaw tallied 11 digs.

After dropping the first set, the Bears bounced back to pull out back-to-back close wins in Sets 2 and 3 to take a 2-1 lead.

NCCU evened the match at 2-2 after holding the Bears to nine kills and an attack percentage of .071 in Set 4. The host Eagles hit .381 with 17 kills and just one error on 42 attempts.

With momentum back on the Eagles' side, NCCU jumped all over Morgan to start the fifth and final set. NCCU scored the first five points, then used a 4-0 spurt to increase its lead to 9-2. A kill by Tyrah Weems ended the run and back-to-back service and attack errors by the Eagles brought Morgan within five points at 10-5. The Bears trailed 13-6 when Ferreira recorded back-to-back kills to cut the deficit to 13-8. NCCU would close out the set and match with a Morgan service error, followed by a block by Amarah Johnson for the 15-8 victory.

NCCU finished the contest with 64 kills and hit .215. The Eagles also had 82 digs. Morgan State hit .128 with 48 kills and had 71 digs.
