BALTIMORE, Md. (Nov. 2, 2025)--Mele Taumoepeau set a career- and match-high 14 digs and Hannah Chappelle added a season-high 11 digs, as Morgan State crashed South Carolina State's Senior Day celebrations with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-13, 25-14) sweep of the Bulldogs in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) match on Sunday afternoon at Dukes Gymnasium.
 
Morgan State improved to 10-11, 7-4 in the MEAC, while South Carolina State dropped its fourth straight and fell to 5-19, 1-10 MEAC. With the win, the Bears completed the season sweep of S.C. State, while improving to 32-1 all-time against the Bulldogs.
 
The visiting Bears closed out the match with 40 kills and a .273 hitting percentage. Morgan State collected 52 digs and had 10 service aces.
 
Offensively, Daniela Ferreira hit .240 and totaled 10 kills, eight digs, three assists and a match-high four service aces to pace the Bears. Hanna Nemeth had a .438 hitting percentage and finished with nine kills and eight digs, while Jada Williams totaled a .318 hitting percentage with nine kills, two digs, an assist and a solo block. Isabelle Brown had 29 assists, eight digs, hit .500 with four kills and led the Bears in blocks with three solos.
 
South Carolina State was led by Arianna James, who recorded a double-double with 20 assists and 10 digs, both team highs. Kiyah Felder finished with a match-high 11 kills, eight digs, a service ace and a block.
 
Morgan State limited the Bulldogs to 22 kills and a hitting percentage of .104. S.C. State had six service aces but committed seven service errors.
 
The Bears return home on Wednesday, Nov. 5 to close out their home schedule when they host Delaware State for Senior Night. Morgan State will honor its four seniors (Hannah Chappelle, Jenae Mason, Daniela Ferreira and Mikaela Esparza) prior to the match. Wednesday's contest will also be Military and First Responder Appreciation Night. First serve is at 6 p.m. at Hill Field House.
