Morgan State Wrestling Joins Newly Formed “Liberty Division”

EIWA Realigns Dual Meet Divisions

BALTIMORE, Md. (Oct. 29, 2025) – Don't look now — the Bears are on the move.

The Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) announced Monday a realignment of its dual meet divisions to create balance across the conference. As part of the update, Morgan State will now compete in the newly formed Liberty Division, alongside American, Army, Bucknell, Lehigh, and Navy.

The conference will now recognize EIWA Dual Meet Champions in both the Liberty Division and the Independence Division, which includes Binghamton, Drexel, F&M, Hofstra, LIU, and Sacred Heart.

This new structure streamlines scheduling by requiring teams to compete in dual meets against all other programs within their division. With six teams per division, programs benefit from more balanced schedules and additional flexibility to schedule out-of-conference opponents from the Big Ten, ACC, Big 12, and other major conferences. Teams will also compete in at least one cross-divisional dual, with the option to add more.

The 2025–26 EIWA divisional dual meets kick off the week of November 9, when Sacred Heart hosts Hofstra on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m. The first cross-divisional matchup features Morgan State hosting Drexel on Sunday, Nov. 16, at noon.
