Morgan State Wrestling Signs Missouri Standout Garrett Beane

BALTIMORE, Md. (May 12, 2026) -- Morgan State wrestling continues to strengthen its future with the addition of highly accomplished Missouri standout Garrett Beane, who has officially signed his National Letter of Intent to join the Bears program.

The announcement was made by Morgan State head coach Kenny Monday as the Bears continue building momentum both on and off the mat.

A native of Missouri and standout competitor at Lathrop High School, Beane arrives at Morgan State with an impressive resume that includes three state championships and four state finals appearances. He capped off his senior season with a 46-4 record at 126 pounds and finished his prep career with a remarkable 170-17 overall mark.

"We're extremely excited to welcome Garrett Beane to the Morgan State wrestling family," said Monday. "Garrett is a 3-time State Champion and a 4-time finalist, and the type of competitor that brings confidence, toughness, and a winning mentality into the room every day. We believe he has the potential to make an immediate impact at 125 pounds for the Bears next season."

Monday also praised Beane's approach beyond competition.

"What stood out to us throughout the recruiting process was his work ethic and competitive mindset," Monday added. "We're proud that Garrett chose Morgan State, and we can't wait to get to work with him as he continues to develop both on and off the mat. Great student as well!"

Beane's signing represents another important addition for the Bears as the program continues its upward trajectory under Monday's leadership. Known for his toughness, discipline, and competitive drive, Beane is expected to make an immediate impact in Morgan State's lower weight classes.

In addition to his wrestling accomplishments, Beane has established himself as a well-rounded student-athlete, bringing both athletic success and strong academic credentials to the Blue and Orange.
