Morgan State Wrestling Adds Two to Signing Class

BALTIMORE, Md. (June 26, 2026) -- Morgan State wrestling has added a pair of talented pieces to its 2026-27 roster with the signing of Anthony Ferrari and Jair Jackson-Bey, head coach Kenny Monday announced Friday.

The additions bolster a Morgan program that continues to build momentum following its historic return to NCAA Division I competition and first NCAA Championship qualifiers in nearly three decades.

Ferrari, a native of Dallas, Texas, arrives at Morgan State after spending the 2025-26 season at Campbell, where he competed at 165 pounds. He has three years of eligibility remaining and is expected to compete at 149 pounds for the Bears.

Before Campbell, Ferrari spent time training with the Iowa Hawkeyes during the 2023-24 season. Although he was not a member of the official varsity roster, he competed unattached at 149 pounds and compiled an impressive 8-1 record in open tournaments. He later competed at Long Island University at 165 pounds, posting a 2-1 record before transferring to Campbell.

Ferrari enjoyed one of the nation's most accomplished prep careers while competing for several nationally recognized programs. At Blair Academy (N.J.), he captured the prestigious Geary Invitational title. Wrestling for Allen High School (Texas), he won the Texas Outlaw Championship, and while at Stillwater High School (Okla.), he claimed the 2021 Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA) Class 6A state championship at 160 pounds.

In addition to his state championship success, Ferrari captured the Reno Tournament of Champions title, finished as a two-time Super 32 runner-up, and earned runner-up finishes at the World Team Tournament twice, establishing himself as one of the country's premier high school wrestlers.

Jackson-Bey joins the Bears following an outstanding wrestling career at Allen High School in Texas, where he developed into one of the nation's most decorated age-group competitors.

His resume includes two Texas state championships and numerous national titles across freestyle and folkstyle competition. Jackson-Bey won championships at the Gopher Nationals, Freakshow Nationals, USA JOC Championships, Lone Star Nationals, Border Wars Nationals, while also earning All-America honors at the NUWAY Nationals, USA Wrestling Kids Folkstyle Championships, Grand River Rumble, Christmas Sparty Championships, and USA Wrestling Central Kids Preseason Championships.

Earlier in his youth career, Jackson-Bey captured Illinois Bantam and Midget state championships, showcasing the consistency and success that have followed him throughout his wrestling career.

"We're excited to welcome Anthony and Jair to Morgan State," Monday said. "Both student-athletes bring outstanding credentials, championship experience, and a competitive mindset that align with the direction of our program. We believe they'll make an immediate impact on the mat while representing Morgan State with pride."

The pair joins a Morgan State program that continues to ascend nationally after qualifying multiple wrestlers for the NCAA Championships last season and positioning itself among the top programs in the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association.
