Moore Power!

Morgan State QB Named MEAC Rookie of the Week.

BALTIMORE, Md. (October 28, 2025) -- Morgan State University redshirt freshman quarterback Raymond Moore III has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Rookie of the Week following his outstanding performance in the Bears' overtime battle against rival Howard University.

This marks the third time this season that Moore has earned MEAC weekly honors and adds to Morgan State's impressive tally of 12 conference awards so far this year — a testament to the program's depth and talent under head coach Damon Wilson.

Moore, a Baltimore native and graduate of Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School, made the most of his second career start, demonstrating leadership and versatility on the field. He completed 13 of 25 passes for 171 yards and a touchdown, while also leading the Bears in rushing with 99 yards on 11 carries, highlighted by an electric 81-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.

Through five appearances this season, Moore has totaled 414 passing yards (35 of 69) with three touchdowns and 252 rushing yards (8.1 avg) with three additional scores. His playmaking ability has helped fuel the Bears' offensive rhythm as they enter the heart of MEAC competition.

The Bears (3-5, 0-1 MEAC) will look to get back in the win column when they resume conference play on Saturday, November 1, traveling to Orangeburg, S.C. to take on the reigning MEAC champion South Carolina State Bulldogs. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium.
