MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (Jan. 18, 2025)--The Morgan State women's tennis team began the 2025 season with a 7-0 non-conference loss to West Virginia on Saturday at Summit Tennis Academy. It was the second consecutive season that the Lady Bears opened the season on the road against the Mountaineers.
Â
West Virginia (2-0), which earlier in the day defeated Duquesne, 4-3, claimed the doubles' point over Morgan State with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions. The Mountaineers then won all six singles matches for the final score.
Â
The Lady Bears'
Lauryn Hall gave West Virginia's Julie Bousseau fits in their No. 2 singles contest. Hall would eventually fall in the opening set, 7-6 (7-1), before falling in Set 2, 6-3.
   Â
Next Up: The Lady Bears (0-1) return to the courts on Sunday, Feb. 2, when they travel to Queens, N.Y. to take on St. John's.
