CARROLLTON, Ga. (Sept. 6, 2024)--Morgan State dropped a tough 3-0 (25-13, 25-14, 26-24) decision to Georgia State on Friday afternoon in its first match of the West Georgia Tournament at The Coliseum.

K Mackey and A Burt totaled 14 and 11 kills, respectively, to lead the Panthers. Patrycja Zielinska finished with a match-high 23 assists and a match-high five service aces. Shanelle Martinez added 17 assists.

Morgan State (0-5) was led by
Jada Williams, who totaled six kills.
Addison Metts added five kills to go with a team-high 10 digs.
Daniela Ferreira also finished with 10 digs.
Trinity Carruthers paced Morgan with 13 assists.

The Bears returned to form, as they out blocked Georgia State, (9.0-3.0). It was the fourth time this season in the five matches played that Morgan has out blocked the opposition. Williams led the way with a match-high five blocks and
Aubrey Wilson added four blocks.

Morgan State has a quick turnaround, as they will face host West Georgia this afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
