BALTIMORE, Md. (April 16, 2024)--The Morgan State softball team will welcome the Rider Broncs for a midweek non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday at Lois T. Murray Field. First pitch is at 2 p.m., followed by a Game 2 start at 4 p.m.

Last season Rider swept the doubleheader in Lawrenceville, N.J. (April 11, 2023), putting an end to a five-game losing skid to Morgan State.

The Lady Bears (24-14, 13-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) are currently on a four-game winning streak after sweeping their three-game series over the weekend at Norfolk State. Morgan State would outscore the Spartans 25-6 and had two shutout victories, including a 7-0 victory in the finale (April 14).

Rider (13-23, 6-6 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) ended a four-game losing streak with a 3-1 win over Siena on Sunday to salvage a game in the three-game series.

Morgan State is 2-2 this season against members of the MAAC. The Lady Bears dropped a doubleheader to Niagara (March 12) and swept Mount St. Mary's (March 20). Both series were played at Lois T. Murray Field.

Rider is 2-0 against the MEAC, having swept a doubleheader against North Carolina Central (2/23) in the season opener at the East Carolina Tournament. The Broncs second series against Delaware State was canceled. Rider will host Maryland Eastern Shore in a doubleheader on May 1 in Lawrenceville, N.J.
