BALTIMORE, Md. (March 15, 2024)--Morgan State, the league's preseason favorite and reigning regular season champion, kicks off the 2024 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) slate this weekend when it travels to Dover, Del. to take on Delaware State in a three-game series at DSU Softball Field.

The Lady Bears and Hornets get underway with a doubleheader on Saturday, March 16 at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., before closing out the series with a single game on Sunday at 12 p.m.

Morgan State swept the series last season, outscoring the Hornets 18-1. The Lady Bears have won 17 consecutive games over Delaware State dating back to the 2017 season. The Lady Bears have held the Hornets scoreless in 12 of those 17 victories.

Morgan State (9-11) is coming off a tough 2-1 loss at the University of Delaware on Wednesday.

Ellie Bostedt each went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Lady Bears. Bostedt had an RBI. Bostedt also went two innings in relief, allowing two hits and threw one strikeout.

Delaware State (6-9) has dropped three straight, following a 4-2 loss at home to Towson on Wednesday. Starting pitcher Kristin White went five innings, surrendering three runs on seven hits and a walk, while throwing three strikeouts. Mayanah McIntosh pitched two innings in relief and tossed two strikeouts.
